Apprentices working on rigging

Meet the ITV Apprentices

Looking for an Apprenticeship at the UK’s biggest commercial broadcaster?

You've come to the right place.

But don't take our word for it... hear from some of the great Apprentices that have taken part in the scheme.

Meet our Apprentices:

Meet Daisy - ITV Business Administration Apprentice

What made you want to join ITV as an Apprentice?

I enrolled into the apprenticeship scheme for 2021. I always knew that I wanted to complete a Business Administration qualification and when I saw the opportunity to do this at ITV through the levy I had to apply for the apprenticeship.

What have you enjoyed most out of your apprenticeship training?

Being in a cohort with internal employees who were also in the apprenticeship scheme 2021, enabled me to gain new relationships and learn about different roles within ITV.

How did you find managing your work alongside your traning?

Doing your day to day role and completing coursework is always hard, however my manager was very supportive and gave me the time I needed to complete the coursework. A very good way on how to manage your coursework and role is by writing to do lists everyday to manage workload and coursework.

Meet Laura - ITV Professional Coaching Apprentice

What made you want to join ITV as an Apprentice?

I wanted to qualify as a coach because currently we use external coaches. Its an area I'm interested in having been a mentor for over 10 years. I want to gain this skill to use within the business saving us money and to give back.

What have you enjoyed most out of your apprenticeship training?

The favourite aspects of my apprenticeship are working with people from different organisations, taking some time out for relection and learning new skills I would like to use to improve things for my team, the wider news teams and hopefully on a wider scale if possible.

How did you find managing your work alongside your traning?

It's not easy squeezing in the work I need to complete to keep up date with assignments and dedicated development time (DDT). You have to be very strict about carving time out of your diary to ensure you complete what's required. I have a very supportive boss and also team which means they do understand when I take a few hours to work on an assignment or read articles and books.

Meet Lucy - ITV Creative Industries Production Apprentice

What made you want to join ITV as an Apprentice?

This opportunity was presented alongside joining Lifted Entertainment North's Junior Production Manager pool.

What have you enjoyed most out of your apprenticeship training?

Attending sessions with industry experts outside of my area of work, for example training on Outside Broadcasting, fixed rig Post Production and Production Financing.

How did you find managing your work alongside your traning?

It has been a real challenge to balance the workload and a decision to take a Level 7 qualification should not be taken lightly!
